About Plain Jane
The site map for my little blog appears down the right side of each page. Please click on anything that looks interesting.
Plain: wise, candid, clear, pure, simple. I became mindful of the phrase plain Jane many years ago, and began looking for positive meanings attached to it and found this list of synonyms.
Jane means: talented with a flair, an affection for music and art. Creative projects spring from the heart receiving special care, tending to reach toward mastery.
These two short paragraphs do describe me. My first story appeared in a school newspaper; the Christmas issue, 1952+-, when I was in third grade. The range of my creations span mediums from small huts built of branches and grass, through weaving and embroidery, in and out of the various paints and pastels and now back into textile. There are quilts and soft sculpture dolls in my children’s fantasy novel. The Art Quilt may represent everything that has come before.
